Upgrades are just the first step
Why service and maintenance matter after an upgrade
Once you have upgraded your home with better insulation, heating controls, a heat pump or solar PV, it is important to keep everything in good working order. Regular checks and planned maintenance help protect your investment, maintain efficiency and avoid unexpected breakdowns.
Premier Insulations can provide service and maintenance plans tailored to the upgrades you have in place – from insulation checks and airtightness inspections to boiler servicing, heat pump and solar system maintenance.
What our service & maintenance plans can cover
Plans are customised based on the systems in your home, but can include:
- Insulation condition checks — visual inspections of attic, cavity, external and internal wall insulation to identify damage, settlement or moisture issues.
- Airtightness and draught checks — checking key junctions, seals and vents to ensure performance is maintained.
- Heating system servicing — oil and gas boiler servicing and safety checks, alongside your regular boiler service schedule.
- Heat pump service — functional checks, filters, settings and visual inspection for air-to-water systems.
- Heating controls health check — verifying time schedules, zones and thermostats are set and working correctly.
- Solar PV checks — visual inspection of panels, inverter indicators and system performance indications.
- BER / performance review — where appropriate, reviewing energy use and advising on further improvements.
We will discuss your home, systems and warranty requirements before recommending a suitable plan.

Plans built around your home and systems
Types of service plans we offer
We do not force a one-size-fits-all package. Instead, we build plans around the mix of upgrades in your home.
Typical plan types include:
- Insulation & fabric check — periodic inspections of insulation, ventilation and key junctions, especially after building work, leaks or storm events.
- Heating & controls plan — annual boiler servicing (oil or gas) combined with checks of heating controls and zoning.
- Heat pump service plan — scheduled checks and basic servicing for air-to-water systems installed as part of wider energy upgrades.
- Solar PV performance check — visual inspections, simple performance checks and advice if output appears lower than expected.
- Whole-home energy check-up — for homes that have completed a deeper upgrade, a periodic review of comfort, bills and system performance.
We can combine several of these into a single visit or spread them out over the year, depending on what is most convenient.
What customers say
“After our insulation and heating upgrades, we wanted the reassurance that everything would be looked after.
The annual check-up picked up a small issue before it became a bigger problem.”
– Homeowner, Co. Wexford
“We have several rental properties that were upgraded over the last few years. Having a planned service visit means fewer emergency calls from tenants and more predictable maintenance costs.”
–Landlord, Co. Limerick
Linking service plans with existing services
Our service and maintenance plans build on the specialist services we already provide, including:
- Oil boiler servicing and gas boiler servicing.
- Heating controls & zoning for better temperature control and reduced waste.
- Air to water heat pumps as part of deeper energy upgrades.
- Solar PV systems for generating your own electricity.
- Airtightness & ventilation checks where required.
Your plan simply pulls together the relevant elements for your home into a single, planned schedule.
Who service & maintenance plans suit best
Service and maintenance plans can be particularly useful if you:
- Have invested in multiple upgrades such as insulation, heat pumps and solar PV.
- Own rental properties and want predictable maintenance and fewer emergency call-outs.
- Have an older boiler or heating system that you rely on heavily.
- Simply want the reassurance that someone is keeping an eye on your energy systems.
We will always be honest about whether a formal plan is worthwhile for your home, or whether occasional one-off visits make more sense.
How our service plans work in practice
Most plans follow a simple pattern:
- We survey your home and list the systems to be covered.
- We agree how often each element should be checked (for example yearly or every few years).
- We schedule visits in advance and send reminders when service dates are due.
- After each visit, we provide a short report and any recommendations for follow-up work.
You are not tied into upgrades you do not want – the focus is on keeping existing systems working, with clear pricing and no surprises.

Service & maintenance plans – quick answers
Do I need a service plan if I have just upgraded my home?
You do not have to take a service plan, but it can be a sensible way to protect your investment, especially if you have multiple systems to look after.
We will explain the pros and cons during your survey so you can decide.
Can I just book one-off visits instead of a plan?
Yes. If you prefer, you can book one-off inspections, boiler services or system checks without committing to an ongoing plan.
A service plan simply makes visits more predictable and can reduce emergency call-outs.
Which systems can be covered under a plan?
Plans can cover insulation checks, airtightness and ventilation checks, boilers, heating controls, heat pumps and, where appropriate, solar PV systems.
We will tailor the plan to the systems actually in your home.
How often will you visit under a service plan?
That depends on the systems involved. Boilers are typically serviced annually, while insulation and airtightness checks may only be needed every few years.
We will agree a sensible schedule with you in advance.
Can I change or cancel a service plan later?
Yes. Service and maintenance needs can change over time.
We will explain the terms clearly and allow you to adjust or cancel a plan if your circumstances or systems change.
