Bonded Bead Cavity Wall Insulation
Seal in warmth and stop paying to heat the outdoors
Insulation you’ll never see — but always feel
What is bonded bead insulation?
Bonded bead is a high-performance cavity wall insulation system made of graphite-enriched polystyrene beads, injected into the wall cavity along with a bonding agent. Together, they form a seamless thermal barrier that significantly reduces heat loss through your walls — making your home warmer, drier, and more efficient.
Where is it used?
- Homes with uninsulated cavity walls (common in homes built before 2006)
- Properties with wide enough cavities (typically 50mm+)
- Upgrades for homes with older board-type wall insulation
Not sure what’s in your walls? Our local surveyors can check and confirm if bonded bead is suitable — and show you how it performs against modern insulation standards.

How the process works
Professional installation by certified technicians
- 20mm holes drilled in external walls (size of a €0.20 coin)
- Bonded bead injected evenly into the cavity using pressurised equipment
- Holes filled and colour-matched after injection
- No disruption inside your home — just a warmer house by the evening
On most homes, installation takes just a few hours. You’ll start feeling the benefits the same day.

Quick answers
Is bonded bead better than board insulation?
Yes — bonded bead flows into every corner and fully fills the cavity. It's more effective and longer lasting than old board-type insulation.
Can I get a grant?
Most likely — SEAI grants are available for cavity wall insulation. We’ll confirm eligibility and handle the paperwork.
Will it cause damp or moisture problems?
No — bonded bead is water-resistant and breathable. It reduces the risk of condensation by keeping internal surfaces warmer.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are completed in 3–5 hours. Larger homes may take a full day.
Do I need to move out during installation?
No — all work is done externally. You can stay home and carry on with your day as normal.
