What to expect on the day

Your engineer will call ahead with an arrival window, arrive with ID, lay floor protection and isolate the boiler safely before starting. A standard service takes 45–60 minutes; hot water and heating will be off for part of that time. We clean and check the burner, run a flue-gas test, confirm safety devices and reinstate the boiler, then talk you through the readings and any recommendations. You’ll receive a clear service report before we leave, and we tidy the area so you’re ready to use your heating straight away.

What we’ll ask when you book

  • Fuel and boiler make/model (if known)
  • Any fault codes or symptoms
  • Property Eircode and preferred access times

Have these ready and we’ll allocate the right engineer first time.

Quick questions

How often should an oil boiler be serviced?

Every 12 months. Annual servicing keeps the burner clean, improves efficiency and helps prevent breakdowns.

How long does a service take?

About 60–75 minutes for a standard domestic unit. Hot water and heating will be off for part of the visit.

Do you replace the nozzle and oil filter?

Yes — these are checked and normally replaced during the service. If any extra parts are needed, we’ll discuss and agree costs first.

Will there be mess or fumes?

We use floor protection and tidy up before we leave. A slight warm-metal smell on first heat-up can be normal and fades quickly.

Do you service outdoor or condensing oil boilers?

Yes. We service indoor and outdoor, standard and condensing models, including kerosene (28-sec) systems.

What if a fault shows up during the service?

We’ll explain the issue, provide a quote for any repair and can often fix it on the day if parts are on the van.

Do I need to be at home?

Ideally yes. We’ll need access to the boiler, controls and (if applicable) the oil tank and fire-valve.

Do I get paperwork?

Absolutely. You’ll receive a clear service report with combustion readings and recommendations before we leave.
